Farrier Image in Charity Print Auction for Japan

 by brailowsky
A photo by brailowsky on Flickr.

"The Farrier": You've seen him before; this print graced The Hoof Blog back in 2008. Now our friend Vitek from Australia is auctioning this print to help the people of Japan through a wonderful fundraising auction started by a group of international photographers on the photography web site Flickr.com.

He would like to start the bidding at $100 Australian dollars. The photo was taken at the heavy horse shoeing competition at the Royal (Sydney) Easter Show.

Please leave a comment on the photo page (click on link to go to Flickr page to bid) with your offer, and please only comment if you wish to bid. Thanks.  (You have to scroll down the page a bit past the type that is similar to this to see the comment form.)

If you want to bid, but you don't have a Flickr account:
No problem! Please just email Vitek with a bid and he will place the bid in the comments on your behalf: v_s25@hotmail.com

The bidding will end on Friday, 25th March, 2011 at 6pm + Sydney time. At this time, the person who wrote/commented or emailed the highest amount will have to give the amount of the bid to a legitimate charity involved in the effort for aid for the people of Japan.

On proof of that donation (please take a screen grab of your donation confirmation page!), Vitek will arrange for the print to be made and shipped to you.

He will pay for the print to be produced and pay for shipping, so all of your donation goes straight to the cause.
