An educator, competitor, judge and farrier, Richard Ellis was a thinking man and farriery has been robbed of someone who could have continued to help elevate the profession.
Richard won the World Championship in Calgary in 1997, and judged there in 2002. He was a stalwart member of the Welsh Farriers Team, competing alongside James Blurton, Billy Crothers, Grant Moon, Haydn Price and other Welsh team members who have gone on to become leaders in the farrier world.
