Scottish farrier David Varini was World Champion in 2013 and has won the European title previously. (Hoof Blog file photo) |
Steven Beane of England, reigning World Champion, was right behind him, with less than 1.5 points separating the two scores. Ed O'Shaughnessy of Ireland was third, Mathieu Delcroix of France fourth and Christian Albergne of France fifth.
The previous story on the Hoof Blog listed the ten farriers who advanced to the finals, but obviously that order changed after today's competition.
Farriers came from as far aways as Hungary to compete for the title. Each country was allowed a maximum of four competitors.
Congratulations to all!
